Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to maintain our books for a Real Estate Brokerage and other smaller LLC’s. In this vital role, you will manage accurate recording of financial transactions, maintain the integrity of our financial data, and support the organization’s accounting processes. Your expertise will ensure compliance with accounting standards and contribute to transparent financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Record and categorize all financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks, or similar
- Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure accuracy between bank statements and ledger records.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Prepare journal entries for various accounting activities, including accruals, adjustments, and corrections.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and perform balance sheet reconciliations to verify account accuracy.
- Assist with payroll processing, including calculating wages, deductions, and tax filings where applicable.
- Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses and assisting in financial report writing for internal review.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards when applicable.
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial data.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all bookkeeping activities for audit readiness and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and journal entries.
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and tax experience is desirable.
- Ability to perform account reconciliation, general ledger accounting, and balance sheet reconciliation accurately.
- Excellent understanding of financial concepts such as account analysis, bank reconciliation, and account reconciliation procedures.
- Proficiency in 10-key typing for efficient data entry.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly through written reports and documentation.
