Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Recruitment Ambassador role based in Arlington, VA. The Recruitment Ambassador will proactively identify, engage, and recruit prospective participants for the Advanced School of Politics’ programs, with a focus on building a strong pipeline of motivated and qualified attendees. Daily responsibilities include conducting outreach via phone, email, social media, and events; scheduling and conducting informational interviews; and representing the school at conferences, career fairs, and partner organization meetings. The role also involves coordinating with program staff to understand course offerings and enrollment goals, maintaining accurate records in the CRM system, and tracking recruitment metrics. The Recruitment Ambassador will assist in onboarding new participants, support occasional training or orientation sessions, and provide ongoing communication to ensure a positive applicant and participant experience.
Qualifications
- Recruiting and Hiring skills to identify, attract, and select qualified participants or candidates for programs.
- Interviewing and Communication skills to conduct effective informational interviews, assess fit, and clearly explain program benefits and requirements.
- Training and Communication skills to support orientations, basic onboarding, and participant guidance before and during programs.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple recruitment funnels, deadlines, and events.
- Experience with CRM or applicant tracking systems and proficiency with standard office and communication software.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, program staff, and external partners, and to represent the institution professionally at events.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as communications, political science, business, or education) or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with political training, campaign environments, or nonprofit organizations is beneficial.
