Title of Position: Residential Director - PA - Up to $5000 Sign-On Bonus*

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (Laverne Quarles)

Program: Community Living Services

FLSA Status: Exempt/Executive

Summary:

The Residential Director is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the operational, administrative, and clinical functions of The Adolphus Group’s community residential services. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Residential Director ensures high-quality care and compliance across multiple residential homes, focusing on the well-being of individuals served, staff development, regulatory adherence, and overall program effectiveness. This position plays a critical role in advancing the organization’s mission and upholding its values in all aspects of residential service delivery.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Direct supervision of House Managers and Program Specialists
  • Indirect oversight of Lead DSPs and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)

Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities:

Program Oversight & Compliance:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures to maintain high-quality care and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all state, county, and federal regulations governing community residential services.
  • Monitor program performance through audits, assessments, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Oversee incident reporting, ensuring timely investigations and corrective actions.
  • Ensure the successful completion of licensing reviews and accreditation processes.

Individual Support & Care Coordination:

  • Oversee and approve individual service plans (ISP) and behavioral support plans.
  • Ensure the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of individuals served.
  • Supervise the coordination of medical, psychiatric, and behavioral health services.
  • Serve as a liaison between families, medical providers, and day programs to ensure cohesive support.
  • Monitor and evaluate individual progress and implement necessary service adjustments.

Staff Leadership & Development:

  • Supervise, mentor, and support House Managers and Program Specialists.
  • Ensure all staff are trained and meet compliance with required certifications.
  • Conduct staff meetings to ensure clear communication and alignment with agency goals.
  • Develop staff performance improvement plans and oversee disciplinary processes as necessary.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts for residential staff.

Administrative & Financial Management:

  • Manage staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage across all residential homes.
  • Oversee and manage house budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
  • Approve spending, payroll, and financial reports related to residential operations.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all required reports, including medical logs and daily progress notes.
  • Maintain oversight of emergency preparedness plans and safety protocols.

Facility & Safety Management:

  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure a safe and compliant residential environment.
  • Coordinate and oversee maintenance and repairs of residential properties.
  • Ensure fire safety protocols, drills, and inspections are conducted in compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain oversight of transportation safety and vehicle maintenance.

Community & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies, licensing bodies, and community partners.
  • Represent The Adolphus Group at meetings, conferences, and networking events.
  • Advocate for individuals served and ensure their voices are heard in decision-making processes.
  • Engage families and guardians to ensure satisfaction with services provided.

Miscellaneous Responsibilities:

  • Attend internal and external meetings as required.
  • Handle emergency situations and provide crisis management support as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the CEO to support organizational goals.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, healthcare administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential services, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Knowledge of ODP regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to travel between residential sites.

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • This is a full-time, on-site position requiring a minimum of 45 hours per week.
  • Must be available for emergencies outside of regular working hours.
  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required.
