Position Title: Garde Manger & Food Prep Cook Location: Philadelphia, PA Job Type: Full Time About Us The Acorn Club is a private club that is committed to delivering high-quality food and exceptional guest experiences. We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented and professional Garde Manger cook to join our team. We are a highly collaborative kitchen. The position requires a broad skill set, including but not limited to: preparing cold dishes, salads, appetizers, protein butchery, some pastry prep, detailed recipe following, and line cooking capabilities. We place emphasis on maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and food safety. Prior restaurant or club experience is required. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who may want to step back from the hustle of the restaurant world or for a highly motivated young cook who would like to gain more experience and knowledge. Responsibilities - - - - - - - - - - Wash, peel, cut, and portion fruits, vegetables, and meats Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards Physical stamina is needed for heavy lifting and standing for several hours at a time Able to read and follow recipes, a la carte ticket orders and event orders Reliable; maintains a full-time work schedule with flexibility to meet business level demands Maintain cleanliness and organization of personal and shared workstations, coolers, and dry storage areas Rotate inventory following FIFO procedures. Assist with receiving and stocking deliveries. Maintain clear communication between FOH and BOH.
