Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other challenges, helping them lead fulfilling lives in their home and community. Duties
As a Direct Support Professional, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Monitoring and documenting overall health status of clients.
- Providing person served care in accordance with established care plans while respecting resident rights.
- Supporting individuals in community integration through social activities and outings.
- Implementing strategies to promote independence and skill development for individuals with disabilities.
- Administering first aid as needed and ensuring a safe environment for all clients.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or related fields is preferred.
- Knowledge of resident rights and advocacy principles.
- Skills in patient monitoring and understanding of vital signs.
- Ability to perform first aid and respond effectively in emergencies.
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with clients, families, and team members.
- A commitment to providing compassionate home community care that respects the dignity of each individual.
