Job Summary
LPN / Medical Assistant – Surgery Center (Part-Time with Full-Time Potential)
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant (MA) to become part of our growing team at a busy gastroenterology surgery center. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced clinical environment, is eager to learn, and takes pride in providing exceptional patient care.

What You'll Do
- Welcome and prepare patients for procedures
- Obtain and document vital signs
- Review and accurately enter medications, allergies, and medical history into the electronic medical record
- Assist with patient recovery and monitor patient flow
- Clean and prepare recovery bays between patients
- Escort discharged patients safely to their transportation
- Prepare charts for upcoming procedures
- Complete pre-procedure phone calls with patients
- Assist physicians and nursing staff during daily operations
- Help prepare the surgery center for the following day's schedule
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional clinical environment
- Perform additional clinical and operational duties as assigned
QualificationsLPN Applicants
- Current Louisiana LPN license in good standing
Medical Assistant Applicants
- Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Previous clinical experience preferred
Preferred Experience
- Gastroenterology, endoscopy, ambulatory surgery center, or outpatient clinical experience
- Experience working with electronic health records (EHR)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced setting
Schedule
Part-Time Position
- Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
- 6:00 AM start time on procedure days
- Occasional Thursdays based on surgery schedule
There is potential for this position to become full-time based on performance and the needs of the practice. Full-time employees work a 40-hour schedule, beginning at 6:00 AM on procedure days and 8:00 AM on non-procedure days.
