What are the responsibilities and job description for the Freelance Content Editor & Designer (Video + Social Media) position at The Academy of Finance®?
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented freelance content editor and designer to support our media and communications team. This role focuses on editing video content, creating social media visuals, and maintaining consistent brand standards across all materials.
As our content is centered on financial markets and investing, a genuine interest in finance is required. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with market-related topics and translating them into clear, compelling visual narratives aligned with the standards of the institution.
- Edit video content for social media, marketing, and digital platforms (short-form and long-form)
- Create and design social media posts using provided content, images, and captions
- Edit and enhance photos for use across digital channels
- Format and prepare content for posting across platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.)
- Assist with light graphic design needs, including marketing materials and print assets
- Ensure all content aligns with established branding for MSR and AOF
- Follow creative direction and feedback closely
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including:
- Adobe Premiere Pro (video editing)
- Adobe After Effects (basic motion graphics a plus)
- Adobe Photoshop (image editing)
- Adobe Illustrator (graphics/layout)
- Experience with Canva
- Strong understanding of social media content formats and trends
- Ability to take direction and execute efficiently
- High attention to detail and consistency with branding
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple small tasks
