3rd Grade ELA/ Equity Studies Teacher

Summary of Position

The Academy is seeking a full-time, highly qualified 3rd Grade English Language Arts/Equity Studies Teacher committed to serving a diverse student body and delivering high-quality, inclusive instruction. 

 

Our classroom teachers work as part of a dynamic team in close collaboration with other teachers, deans and school support staff to deliver strong academic instruction and support to students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds.  
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans using provided curriculum and instructional materials
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities and communicate a growth mindset to students. 
  • Observe and evaluate students' performance and development
  • Use student data to inform and adjust teaching strategies for whole group, small groups and individual students. 
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.  
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.  
  • Participate in department/grade-level, school, and parent meetings.  
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.   
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications 

  • Valid Multi Subject California Teaching credential 
  • Must pass a criminal background check and TB test clearance

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others, receive and implement feedback. 
  • Strong attendance and punctuality 
  • Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program.  
  • Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology.  Meet professional teacher education requirements of school, district, and state. 

Time Commitment

  • 11-month position
  • 40-hour work week

Work Performed Outside of the Professional Work Day 

Required attendance at events outside of the professional workday include:

  • Back-to-School Night
  • Family Home Visits
  • Family/Teacher Conferences
  • Open House

Compensation

Competitive based on education level & experience

Salary : $70,000
