Company Description Academy for Precision Learning (APL) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, independent K–12 school that provides an inclusive, academically rigorous, and socially engaging environment for students across the autism spectrum. Founded in 2007, APL operates both a K–12 school and an embedded licensed behavioral health clinic, Roots, which delivers Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) services to students with autism. The organization employs more than 70 staff members and manages an annual operating budget exceeding $6 million, reflecting a stable and growing institution. Families relocate from across the U.S. and internationally to access APL’s specialized, integrated educational and clinical supports for their children.


Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Classroom BCBA role located in Seattle, WA. The Classroom BCBA collaborates with educators, therapists, and families to design, implement, and monitor individualized ABA programming for students across the autism spectrum in an inclusive classroom setting. Daily responsibilities include conducting functional behavior assessments, developing and updating behavior intervention plans, collecting and analyzing data, and coaching classroom teams on evidence-based strategies. The role involves training and supporting staff in ABA best practices, modeling effective intervention techniques, and ensuring that programming aligns with each student’s academic and social goals. The Classroom BCBA also participates in interdisciplinary meetings, communicates regularly with caregivers, and maintains documentation that meets ethical, clinical, and regulatory standards.


Qualifications

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential and Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) license in Washington State; master’s degree in behavior analysis, special education, psychology, or related field.
  • Experience conducting functional behavior assessments, developing behavior intervention plans, and using data-based decision making in school or clinic settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to integrate ABA strategies into classroom routines and individualized education plans.
  • Strong skills in training, coaching, and supporting staff, including paraprofessionals and behavior technicians, in implementing evidence-based interventions.
  • Commitment to inclusive education, neurodiversity-affirming practices, assent-based practices, and culturally responsive, trauma-informed approaches.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, professional documentation practices, and proficiency with data collection and reporting tools.
  • Ability to work on-site in Seattle, WA, manage multiple priorities, and maintain composure and professionalism in dynamic classroom environments.
  • Prior experience with K–12 students with autism or related developmental differences; familiarity with IEP processes and school-based interdisciplinary teams is highly beneficial.
