Paraprofessional
The Academy for Global Citizenship seeks a Paraprofessional to work in collaboration with the classroom teacher to provide targeted instruction as outlined in the IEP of a Diverse Learner student. This position is ideal for a passionate person who is on the pathway to be an educator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support for student(s)
- Collaborate with classroom teacher and diverse learners teacher on a daily basis
- Facilitate daily classroom routines and procedures
- Maintain up-to-date documentation
- Facilitate high quality engagement during independent work times for all students
- Assist with recess and lunch duties
- Support classroom teacher with tasks as needed, including co-teaching
- Work with International Baccalaureate Program so that collaborative learning with teachers enhances the achievement and learning environment of all students
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- At least 2 years of elementary school work experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish (required)
- Experience with diverse learner children
- On the pathway to becoming a teacher
Education Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree in related field (minimum)
- Illinois State Paraprofessional certification

Compensation:
A competitive salary will be based on experience and level of education. Full benefits, free organic breakfast and lunch, a wellness fund, and professional development funds are offered.
