Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Student Achievement
- Deliver engaging, standards-aligned physical education instruction for K–8 students.
- Teach fundamental motor skills, fitness concepts, and team-building activities.
- Develop and implement lessons that promote physical fitness, coordination, and healthy lifestyles.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs and abilities of all students.
- Monitor student progress and encourage goal-setting related to fitness and wellness.
- Participate in weekly professional development and professional learning communities.
- Collaborate with staff to promote school-wide wellness initiatives.
- Contribute to a positive school culture focused on health and student engagement.
- Communicate with families regarding student participation and progress.
- Support and organize school events related to fitness, sports, or wellness.
- Implement PBIS and proactive classroom management strategies in active settings.
- Ensure a safe, structured, and inclusive environment during physical activities.
- Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect among students.
Candidates must meet one of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field OR
- Arizona teaching certification in Physical Education or a related subject area
- Demonstrate strong classroom and activity management skills
- Pass required background checks and obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Demonstrate commitment to serving Title I and multilingual communities
- Show enthusiasm for student health, fitness, and wellness
- Demonstrate collaboration, flexibility, and strong organizational skills
AMS offers a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support professional growth and long-term career success.
- Salary Range: $44,770 – $50,550 (DOE)
