Duties
- Design and deliver engaging skill-building activities tailored to each individual's abilities and goals, focusing on areas such as communication, social skills, self-care, and community participation
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, dressing, feeding, and personal hygiene to promote independence
- Support behavioral health initiatives by implementing behavior management strategies and tracking progress through data collection
- Provide direct support during community outings, transportation, and at our skill building center to ensure safety and engagement
- Maintain detailed records of progress, activities, and incidents to support ongoing assessment and program adjustments
Experience
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is preferred but not necessary
- Background in special education or social work enhances your ability to create impactful skill-building strategies
- Experience in behavioral health or behavior management techniques is advantageous
- Home and community care experience demonstrates your ability to adapt support in various environments
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with individuals, families, and team members
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record for transportation responsibilities
- Must pass a background check
- Ability to perform caregiving tasks such as assisting with ADLs and providing compassionate support in various settings
