The Resident Care Manger combines direct care responsibilities with leadership and oversight to ensure residents receive high-quality, compassionate care.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Resident Care & Daily Living
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, and mobility
- Support residents in meaningful engagement, recreation, and social activities
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed, creating a warm, home-like dining experience
- Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
- Observe and report changes in residents’ condition promptly and accurately
- Administer medications as prescribed, in accordance with North Carolina Medication Aide certification
- Supervise and support Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) and CNAs to ensure compassionate, individualized care
- Provide hands-on care and mentorship, modeling best practices and professionalism
- Assist with scheduling, shift coverage, and coordination of care staffing
- Maintain documentation and communicate regularly with the Administrator regarding resident care plans and updates
- Monitor and order supplies, keeping the home organized and well-stocked
- Communicate with residents’ families, fostering trust and partnership in care
- Support new employee onboarding and training to promote consistency and excellence
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, cooperative work environment
- Current CNA certification and NC-approved Medication Aide (Med Tech) certification
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in assisted living, long-term care, or similar care setting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR certification
- Dependable transportation and consistent attendance
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable approach to care and teamwork
- Associate degree or higher, or completion of relevant college-level coursework (e.g., health sciences, gerontology, human services, or management)
- Leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience training or mentoring care staff
- Familiarity with NC Adult Care Home regulations and documentation standards
- Experience coordinating care with families and healthcare providers
- Hours: 40 hours per week (daytime hours with some flexibility as needed)
- Weekends & Holidays: Required on a rotating basis
