JOB SUMMARY 


The Abbi Agency is looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking SEO strategist to join our Digital Experience team! The SEO Strategist is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive search engine optimization strategies to increase organic visibility, drive quality web traffic, and support overall business objectives. This position is required to wear many hats and should be proficient in both content and technical SEO. In addition to SEO, this position will also incorporate evolving GEO strategies for AI search tools. 

This role requires strong analytical, technical, and creative thinking skills, as well as the ability to work cross-functionally with marketing and development teams.

Position open to candidates based in the United States only, remote or based in Reno, NV. Preference will be given to candidates located in PST.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Editorial & Content Strategy: Lead the development of editorial strategies by conducting keyword research and building content plans that align with client objectives.
  • Technical SEO: Work with the development team to audit websites for search engine friendliness, improve site speed and mobile responsiveness, handle structured data, remove duplicative content, improve Core Web Vitals and accessibility, optimize sitemaps and robots.txt files, manage redirects, and ensure security protocols leading to improved search engine rankings. 
  • Audits & Optimization: Conduct in-depth SEO audits and provide actionable recommendations for on-page, off-page, local, and technical SEO optimization. Work with the development team to implement recommendations.
  • Performance Tracking & Reporting: Monitor client performance for organic traffic, rankings, and engagement. Track KPIs, and deliver clear, data-driven monthly reports highlighting ROI and strategic adjustments. Analyze and use SEO performance to inform recommendations and decisions that drive growth and achieve identified KPIs.
  • Ongoing On-Page Optimization: Optimize metadata, header tags, internal links, and keyword placement to improve search rankings and user experience.
  • Client Communication: Present SEO strategies, updates, and recommendations to clients, ensuring alignment with their goals and timelines.
  • Business Development Support: Participate in discovery sessions for potential new clients and assist with pitching SEO content strategies when necessary.
  • Industry Trends & Innovation: Stay informed of emerging SEO technologies, algorithm updates, and industry shifts including generative search optimization. Proactively apply these insights to ensure the agency’s SEO strategies remain innovative and provide clients with a competitive edge.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knows how to leverage AI to be most efficient and effective in their role. Bonus points if you have experience with AI agents.
  • Proficient with industry-standard software: Google Analytics, GTM, GMB (Google My Business), Google Search Console, AHREFs, SEMRush, Screaming Frog, etc. 
  • Familiar with Google Suite of Products; sheets, docs, slides, etc. 
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest trends and technologies in SEO 
  • Strong time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to clearly and effectively articulate complex ideas to a non-SEO audience
  • Ability to work on a multitude of projects/clients simultaneously
  • Proven working experience in on-site, off-site, local, link-building, keyword research and analysis
  • Understands principles, best practices, and metrics of search engine optimization
  • On-page optimization, writing title tags, meta descriptions, incorporation of keywords, for web platforms like WordPress, Duda, Webflow, etc.
  • Understanding of local vs. national SEO tactics 
  • Adherence to SEO best practices for website and content maintenance
  • Comfortable in site architecture, performance optimization, crawlability, indexing, mobile optimization, and troubleshooting technical website issues
  • Understanding of how paid search & organic search work together
  • Comfortable presenting their work to both internal and external teams 
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision is required


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • 2 years of experience in SEO
  • Google’s Courses
  • SEMRush Academy’s SEO s
  • WordPress experience 
  • Experience with tourism and professional services clients
  • Excited about AI and GEO
