JOB SUMMARY: As an Abbey Resort associate, you will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible team at an all service resort situated on the beautiful shores of Geneva Lake. BASIC FUNCTION: A Porter is responsible for creating exceptional first and last impressions by providing luggage assistance, room escorts, and guest service support throughout the resort. This position focuses exclusively on guest luggage, room deliveries, and personalized guest assistance and does not operate guest vehicles or resort shuttles.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous hospitality or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license preferred but not required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Greet arriving and departing guests with a warm, professional demeanor.
• Assist guests with luggage during arrival, departure, and throughout their stay.
• Escort guests to guestrooms while providing an orientation to room features and resort amenities.
• Escort guests as needed to outlets, spa, gift shop, indoor or outdoor pools
• Deliver luggage, packages, amenities, cribs, rollaway beds, and other requested items.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and special service needs.
• Maintain the luggage storage area in a clean and organized manner.
• Assist in maintaining a welcoming and orderly front entrance and lobby.
• Provide directions and information regarding resort amenities, dining outlets, activities, and local attractions.
• Coordinate with the Front Desk regarding guest arrivals, departures, and special requests.
• Practice safe lifting techniques while handling guest belongings.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all guest interactions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

MARIGINAL FUNCTIONS:

• Effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
• Required to perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
• Scheduled hours may vary on business needs and may or may not include holidays, weekends, various shifts, overtime or reduced hours.
• Any other task, written or verbal, assigned by Management.
• Maintain the highest level of employee/guest relations.
• Adhere to the policies of the Resort as set forth in the Employee Handbook and report any observe violations to Human Resources.
• Maintain a good working relationship with all Departments.
