Job Title: Machine Operator
Shifts:
2nd Shift – 2:00pm – 10:00pm (train on 1st shift 6am to 2pm 2-3 weeks)
3rd Shift – 10:00pm – 6:00am (train on 1st shift 6am to 2pm 2-3 weeks)
Department: Production Department (Medina)
Reports To: Production Lead (Medina)
SUMMARY
The person fulfilling this role is able to produce candles of the highest quality by operating one or more machines used in the production of candles and related products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Machine Operator daily tasks could consist of:
- Coordinating the production schedule, material requirements, product quality and staffing requirements for a specific production area.
- Safely operating the production lines in accordance with work instructions to produce quality product made within established scheduled time frame.
- Safely operating material handling equipment to keep work area stocked with material and supplies needed for production or packing.
Essential Functions
- Produces candles and related products using several processes including, but not limited to, pouring, extruding, pressing and dipping.
- Measures, records, and adjusts machines to maintain product consistency according to documented process and quality specifications. Records this data into the Root production tracking system.
- Minimizes downtime and scrap, and makes recommendations on improving performance.
- Performs pre-shift inspections and trouble-shoots machines and raw materials issues.
- Performs machine/product changeovers including changing of dies, molds, wax blends, wick, blocks, fill heights and cutting blades.
- Works and communicates with other functional and support departments as needed.
- Able to work extended shifts and hours, including holidays and weekends, in order to meet business needs.
- Keeps work area safe, clean and orderly.
- Able to perform other tasks as assigned or needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training, and/or Experience
- Ability to read, write and perform basic math.
- 2 years of machine operating experience in a manufacturing/industrial operation
- High school diploma or GED

- Openness to new ideas and a desire to learn.
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Good manual dexterity and coordination.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.50 per hour
