Job Title: Retail Specialist
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Hours: up to 40 hours/week overtime
Reports to: President/Owner
POSITION SUMMARY: The Retail Specialist is responsible for all sales activities and sales associate job duties, from greeting customers, answering questions, answering the telephone, offering assistance, suggesting items, lending opinions and providing product information. Individual responsibilities as a Retail Specialist may include demonstrating outstanding customer service and selling skills, keeping the selling floor stocked with merchandise, assisting in display of merchandise or organizing the selling floor and stock areas as well as assisting with store inventory, purchasing and e-commerce.
The Retail Specialist must process payments by totaling purchases; processing checks, cash and store or other credit cards. Must also be able to deal with customer refunds courteously and professionally. Maintains a professional attitude with sincerity and enthusiasm reflecting store's commitment to the customer; creates a customer experience.

- Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
- Knowledge of customer and market dynamics and requirements

- Accepts and processes orders, operates the POS register and resolves returns issues
- Available to work a variety of hours, which include evenings, and Saturdays

Supervision & Technical Responsibilities:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Acts as a resource and subject matter expert for customers needs. Some decision-making requires collaboration with the Owner.
Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.
Education, Experience & Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years previous sales experience preferred.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent sales and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of POS and payment systems.
- Previous knowledge of retail clothing industry.
- Writing, basic math, interpersonal, decision-making, & basic analytical skills.
- Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Aptitude in problem-solving.
- The ability to work under time constraints.
- Able and willing to work well in a diverse environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with light lifting as required
Pay: $15.00 - $21.00 per hour
