Position Summary: ThayerMahan is seeking a full stack software engineer to join our team. In this role, you will help develop a wide range of software from web applications to embedded Linux, and microcontrollers.
Role And Responsibilities
Create and maintain software solutions by writing and reviewing code, creating and maintaining documentation, and developing and reviewing design proposals.
- Design and develop new features and prototypes.
- Maintain and improve existing features and codebases.
- Build reusable code and libraries that others can leverage and build upon.
- Optimize code for maximum speed and scalability.
- Ensure the technical feasibility of full stack designs.
- Collaborate with team members to build attractive and usable solutions.
- Provide field engineering support for R&D, new product testing, and deployed systems.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen (due to access to Controlled Unclassified Information).
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Relevant industry experience (including internships).
- Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
- Self-motivated individual that possesses excellent time management and organization skills.
- Sound judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Clear and efficient communication skills.
- Ability to work with a small team in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Experience with C/C .
- Experience with Python.
- Experience with Git.
- Experience with Bash and Linux.
- Experience with Docker.
- Experience with networking technologies.
- Experience with single-board computers and microcontrollers.
- Experience working with or developing systems for DoD customers.
- Experience applying cybersecurity controls for DoD systems.
- Ability to travel to Groton HQ to support on-site development and on short notice. Also, occasional travel for at-sea support or major client milestones.
