Overview:


The Inventory Control Manager oversees and optimizes all aspects of inventory management across manufacturing and distribution operations. This role ensures materials, components, and finished goods are accurately tracked, efficiently stored, and readily available to support production schedules and customer demand. The manager will maintain system accuracy, streamline warehouse processes, ensure financial accountability, and serve as a key liaison with Headquarters to support reporting, audits, and operational alignment.


Key Responsibilities


Inventory Management

· Maintain accurate records of raw materials, WIP (work-in-progress), and finished goods inventory.

· Develop, implement, and enforce inventory control procedures across production and warehouse operations.

· Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts and full physical inventories.

· Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply for re-packing and manufacturing.

· Analyze inventory variances, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.

· Manage the flow of materials between production, warehouse, and shipping departments.


Accounting & Financial Coordination

· Collaborate with Finance and Procurement teams to reconcile inventory and validate accuracy.

· Ensure inventory valuations are accurate and reflect in accounting records.

· Provide inventory reporting for audits, financial planning, and headquarters review.

· Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end inventory reporting processes.


System Management & Reporting

· Maintain accuracy within NetSuite and WMS systems.

· Ensure all inventory transactions (receipts, issues, transfers, adjustments) are properly recorded and documented.

· Develop KPIs and metrics to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.

· Lead cross-functional projects focused on inventory accuracy, warehouse layout, and automation.

· Managing inventory staging of Finished goods and Raw materials based on FIFO and FEFO.


Process Optimization

· Evaluate and improve material handling, storage, and replenishment processes.

· Implement lean inventory management practices to minimize waste and maximize space utilization.

· Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance operational workflow.


Leadership & Team Development

· Supervise and mentor warehouse and inventory control staff.

· Train team members on inventory procedures, system usage, and safety compliance.

· Establish clear goals and expectations related to accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.

· Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

· Team collaboration and assisting with daily tasks based on demand.

· Supporting internal and external departments


Compliance, Quality & Safety

· Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.

· Partner and communicate with Quality Assurance to manage non-conforming materials, maintain lot traceability and ensure all documentation is received with Raw (COA’s)

· Maintain accurate documentation for audits, regulatory compliance, and customer requirements.

· Support adherence to ISO, OSHA, and other applicable standards.


Headquarters Communication

· Serve as the primary point of contact for Headquarters on inventory matters.

· Collaborate on process improvements, system upgrades, and compliance initiatives.


Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

· Equivalent experience in manufacturing inventory control and accounting may be considered.


Experience:

· 5–7 years of inventory management experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

· 5 years of supervisory / manager experience.

· Experience coordinating with production planning, logistics, operations and accounting teams.

· Proven success implementing cycle count programs, ERP/WMS systems, and inventory optimization projects.


Skills:

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on operational efficiency and accuracy.

· Proficient in NetSuite and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), with a solid understanding of data accuracy and inventory flow.

· Knowledge of accounting principles as they relate to inventory valuation, cost accuracy, and reconciliation processes.

·Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams effectively.

· Experienced in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies aimed at reducing waste and optimizing processes.

· Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail.

· Strong cross-functional communication skills, including effective coordination with Headquarters and internal departments.

· Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with experience in developing and maintaining inventory and performance dashboards.

· Skilled in the use of handheld scanners, as well as shipping and logistics platforms such as FedEx systems and Ship Station.
