Overview
We are seeking a Field Service Technician to join That IT Guy LLC. You will handle high-volume service requests across a diverse range of hardware, from enterprise office equipment to complex low-voltage cabling infrastructure. This is a hands-on role requiring a "jack-of-all-trades" technical aptitude and a high degree of field independence.
Specific Responsibilities (Based on Current Volume)
- Network & Server Maintenance: Perform onsite troubleshooting and installation for networking gear, wireless infrastructure, and server/storage units (your highest volume area with 240 jobs).
- Low Voltage Cabling: Execute physical cable runs, patch cabling, and structured cabling tests to ensure site connectivity.
- Enterprise Office Support: Service and repair Windows devices, printers, and Mac devices.
- Specialized Hardware: Handle maintenance and installation for Point of Sale (POS) systems, digital signage, and kiosks.
- Telecom & Access Control: Maintain POTS/VoIP lines and troubleshoot access control or alarm system components as needed.
Hard Skills & Requirements
- Diverse Hardware Literacy: Proven experience with Windows/Mac devices and enterprise printers.
- Cabling Proficiency: Ability to perform clean cable runs and utilize testing equipment for low voltage certification.
- Networking Fundamentals: Familiarity with wireless networking and server rack environments.
- Field Efficiency: Ability to manage a high volume of work orders—your business has a track record of completing hundreds of diverse tasks; your hire needs to match that pace.
