Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and personable Beertender to join our merry band at That Damn Mary! In this role, you will craft exceptional beer and wine experiences, deliver outstanding customer service, and create a lively atmosphere that keeps guests coming back. Your enthusiasm, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks will be key to thriving in this fast-paced environment. We have an active program of music entertainment, including Open Mic and excellent local acts.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with precision and flair, adhering to all food safety and alcohol service regulations
- Engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner to take orders, answer questions about menu options, and recommend drinks based on preferences
- Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate order processing, cash handling, and sales recording
- Facilitate musicians packing in and out for our entertainment program.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, ensuring compliance with food handling standards and safety protocols
- Monitor guest intoxication levels responsibly and intervene as necessary to promote safe drinking practices
- Restock bar supplies efficiently during shifts to ensure seamless service without delays
- Collaborate with kitchen staff for catering events or banquet services, ensuring timely food and beverage delivery
Experience
- Previous experience working as a bartender in fine dining establishments, nightclubs, or banquet settings is highly preferred
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Toast POS or Square POS is essential for accurate sales processing
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage diverse clientele in a lively environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and responsible alcohol service practices
- Experience with food handling, catering events, or banquet service is advantageous
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts while maintaining high-quality service
- Familiarity with retail math for cash handling and sales reconciliation is beneficial
