Tharros Place is a residential child care home that provides support and shelter for survivors of human trafficking for girls between the ages of 12-17. Tharros, meaning courage in Greek, is the motivating force for survivors which allows them to envision the future that they desire for themselves. Our trauma-informed approach and plans are customized for each survivor. The mission of Tharros Place is to "Cultivate a culture of courage for adolescent survivors of human trafficking through compassionate and safe residential care, empowered and respected staff, and collaborative community outreach."
Tharros Place Residential Advisor Manager (RAM) serves as a positive role model to support, lead, and encourage direct care staff and youth served. The RAM trains and supervises all direct care staff on their shift. Additionally, the RAM is responsible for the quality of direct support services provided to the youth housed at Tharros Place. The RAM is responsible for the adherence of the program's daily schedule, as well as the safety and well-being of the youth residing at Tharros Place. As the RAM, you must be committed to the overall well-being of the individuals we serve while providing quality supervisory guidance to our staff.
Position Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum Age 21
- High school diploma or GED plus willingness to complete on-the-job training.
- Two years of documented experience, as a care provider, with documented skills or training relevant to the population of trauma youth
- Attention to detail and ability to solve problems quickly and responsibly.
- Excellent communication skills in both writing and speaking
- Satisfactory clearance of criminal background, DMV, and drug screenings
- CPR and First Aid certified.
Preferred:
- Associate degree from an accredited college or university in the area of behavioral or social sciences, social work, or psychology, childhood education.
- Supervising Experience: 1 year
Essential Job Responsibility
- Conduct and complete on the job training for Residential Advisor Specialist
- Provide continued hands-on oversight of direct care staff, ensuring their continued adherence to quality expectations, safety standards and job responsibilities.
- Create and distribute monthly RAS schedule to ensure staffing meets program needs.
- Identify coverage for shift callouts. If coverage by a RAS is not identified the RAM will cover the shift.
- Complete grocery shopping to ensure well balanced meals for participants.
- Ensure Tharros Place vehicles are cleaned and gassed weekly, as well as review milage book for accuracy.
- Maintain upkeep of the inside and outside of the facility.
- Daily review of progress notes, MARS, critical incident reports, and other resident documentation by direct care staff for accuracy.
- Debrief with shift RAM to review shift successes and challenges and identify needs and services for participants.
- Provide for the needs, care, protection, and supervision of youth in the program by providing a stabilizing and nurturing environment that promotes safety, well-being and permanency.
- Support the rules, model positive behavior, and serve as mentor for young people to ensure adherence to Tharros Place policies and procedures.
- Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary team and attends all meetings as such.
- Foster collaboration and leadership through activities that promote teamwork and encourage participants to actively pursue responsibility.
- All other duties assigned by Residential Director.
