What are the responsibilities and job description for the Per Diem Café Site Server / Meals-on-Wheels Driver position at Thames Valley Council for Community Action?
JOB SUMMARY:
Site Server summary: Receive food deliveries, store appropriately, heat meals for Meals on Wheels delivery, and assist in packing deliveries. Coordinate, prepare/serve lunch meal at assigned congregate nutrition meal site; clean and wash equipment used in the preparation and serving of lunch; maintain a safe, clean,and sanitary work area; establish good rapport with senior center participants and volunteers; complete weekly and monthly paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
Driver summary: Pack and Deliver meals to homebound senior citizens on assigned route in Windham County, and complete gate-keeping duties. Return and clean coolers, and delivery bags at end of route. Applicant is required to take Servsafe certification. (Class and exam paid for by employer.)
Required Skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable, insured vehicle for daily travel, and current Connecticut Driver’s License.
- Experience with senior population preferred.
- Must attain ServSafe Certification within six months.
