Job Summary
Thacker Casket Manufacturing is the largest family owned casket manufacturing company in the United States and has been in business since 1939. Thacker Casket Manufacturing employees about 190 team members at our 300,000 sq. ft. facility in Florence, Alabama and produces funeral products, mainly caskets, for funeral homes across the country.
To achieve that vision, we are hiring production general labor positions. The positions are full time, with normal work hours between either 5:30am-4:00pm or 6:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Thursday, and possible overtime on Fridays depending on market conditions. If no overtime is needed, employees enjoy a three-day weekend.
All candidates must have a reliable mode of transportation to and from Florence, AL and be able to pass a drug screen. These positions pay $16.20 per hour with eligibility for a bi-weekly bonus based on department performance.

Responsibilities:
- Interpret and follow production documents, and work instructions with precision
- Assemble components using hand tools, mechanical knowledge, and assembly line techniques
- Conduct manual handling tasks, including heavy lifting, ensuring adherence to safety protocols at all times
- Monitor manufacturing processes for efficiency improvements and suggest process enhancements for lean manufacturing practices
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, inspections, and quality checks in accordance with manufacturing management standards
Qualifications
- Proven factory experience with a solid understanding of manufacturing environments and safety standards in production
- Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments
- Familiarity with manufacturing documentation, process improvement initiatives, and warehouse operations
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and repetitive motions
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills for managing production or assembly challenges
- Prior experience in assembly line work or managing production teams is a plus but not required
