The Resident Automation Technician supports our customer on all automation-related topics. This position requires a broad-based electrical and mechanical skillset and a proactive approach to improve the site’s performance through trouble-shooting and hands-on repair. Based at our customer site, the Resident Automation Technician must represent the TGW image and ensure that a professional relationship with the client is developed and maintained.REQUIREMENTSEducation:High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or Technical Certificate preferred.Experience:Previous experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment in industrial, warehousing/distribution, or related environments, preferred.Skills & Abilities

- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Resolve customer equipment issues as quickly and practically as possible.
- Complete work assignments and the associated work orders as assigned.
- Complete maintenance activities pertaining to the automated equipment onsite, including conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, and carton-opening systems.
- Adhere to the highest quality standards, while always ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Optimize automation efficiency and performance to ensure delivery of contracted KPIs. Interface with the customer as needed to support operations.
- Monitor and maintain the site spare parts inventory, as applicable.
- Thorough attention to detail and demonstrated problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc.).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings for use in diagnostics preferred.
- Previous experience troubleshooting and repairing material-handling conveyors, AS/RS, and shuttle systems preferred.
- Familiarity with Human Machine Interface (HMI) and/or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) experience preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
- Requires ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend, stretch, push and pull
- Must be able to coordinate movement of several parts of the body, such as arms and legs, while the body is moving
- Must be able to keep or regain the body’s balance or stay upright when in an unstable position
- Must be able to use hands to handle, control, feel, grasp, move and/or assemble objects, tools or controls
