Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. This role analyzes project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine material, labor, and equipment costs. The Estimator works closely with preconstruction, project management, subcontractors, and clients to support successful bid submissions and project budgeting.

- Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Prepare conceptual, schematic, design development, and final bid estimates.
- Develop and maintain cost databases and historical pricing.
- Identify value engineering opportunities.
- Assess project risks and develop appropriate contingencies.
- Coordinate bid schedules and ensure timely submission.
- Clarify scope gaps and overlaps.
- Prepare bid summaries and leveling sheets.
- Participate in scope review meetings with subcontractors.
- Assist in proposal preparation and presentation materials.
- Develop preliminary budgets and cost models.
- Perform cost comparisons and cost studies.
- Support GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price) development.
- Track market trends and material cost fluctuations.
- Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and preconstruction teams.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits.
- Assist with handoff meetings to operations teams.
- Maintain strong subcontractor and vendor relationships.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred), or equivalent experience.
- 3–10 years of commercial construction estimating experience (depending on level).
- Experience with commercial projects such as office, retail, healthcare, education, multifamily, or industrial.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Sage Estimating, OST, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
- Strong Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Detail-oriented with high accuracy.
- Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Salary : $100,000 - $150,000
