Community Marketing Intern — TGLIR AMLBC

TGLIR AMLBC (Awon Meta Long Beach City) is a U12 competitive youth soccer program based in Long Beach, California. Operated by TGLIR LLC, we are building something real in this community and we are looking for a motivated college student to help us grow.
About the Role
This is a part-time unpaid hybrid internship focused on community marketing, social media, and player recruitment.
Approximately 90% of the role can be completed remotely, with one in-person meeting or activity per quarter in the Long Beach area. Some optional in-person community and game-day opportunities may also be available.
You will help get the TGLIR AMLBC name in front of families, schools, parks, and community organizations throughout Long Beach and surrounding communities.
This is not a traditional desk-only marketing internship. You will help build a real youth sports program by combining digital marketing with grassroots community outreach.
What You Will Do
Help distribute and coordinate placement of flyers, posters, and yard signs at schools, parks, recreation centers, community boards, and local businesses
Identify opportunities to promote AMLBC at youth sports events, school fairs, community gatherings, and other local events
Manage and grow TGLIR AMLBC's social media presence across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
Create short-form videos, photos, graphics, and other content focused on player recruitment, game highlights, player development, and community engagement
Identify and pursue earned media opportunities including local newspapers, community newsletters, school announcements, and youth sports publications
Build relationships with school administrators, coaches, park personnel, youth sports organizations, and community contacts
Help develop creative grassroots marketing ideas to increase program awareness and player recruitment
Track outreach activity including locations contacted, promotional materials distributed, opportunities identified, and social media performance
Support game-day content and community engagement when available including photography and social media coverage
What We Are Looking For
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or community college program
Interest in marketing, communications, social media, sports management, business, journalism, or a related field
Strong communication and organizational skills
Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
Able to create or learn short-form social media content
Reliable transportation for occasional community outreach in the Long Beach area
Professional and comfortable communicating with schools, businesses, coaches, parents, and community organizations
