Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our mid-office team. As a vital member of our healthcare services, you will provide patient care under the direct supervision of our providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform medical assistant procedures, including preparing patients and examination rooms, taking initial medical history, and explaining processes to patients.
- Assist providers with patients, take vital signs, and update medical records in accordance with procedures and forms.
- Undertake front office and clerical duties, such as assisting patients with paperwork, verifying patient demographics and insurance benefits, and performing billing and bookkeeping functions.
- Assist providers in special procedures, including minor surgery, and outline care instructions to patients as instructed by providers.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines for patient confidentiality and principles of medical ethics for medical assistants.
- Maintain adequate medical supplies, wash and dry instruments used, and prepare sterilization as required.
Requirements:
- Hold a current Medical Assistant certification.
- Experience with EPIC preferred.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Work Environment:
This role operates in a professional medical environment with consistent use of technology throughout shifts to complete assigned work tasks. The ability to move supplies and office equipment (up to 20 pounds) is also required.
Work Schedule and Travel:
- Typical Work Schedule: 40-hour work week, Sunday through Saturday, with 3 x 12-hour shifts and 1 x 6-hour shift.
- Every other weekend is required.
- Overtime hour availability based on patient volume and clinic needs.
- Regional staffing requires travel within region; travel outside region may be required based on volumes and clinic needs.
