Position Summary
The Field Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and directing field operations across multiple active construction projects. This role provides leadership to Foremen and field personnel, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards, project specifications, and client expectations.
The ideal candidate is an experienced electrical construction professional with strong leadership skills, a proven ability to manage multiple job sites simultaneously, and a commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall field leadership and supervision for electrical construction activities across multiple project sites.
- Travel regularly between job locations to monitor project progress, workforce productivity, installation quality, and safety compliance.
- Lead, mentor, and support Foremen and field crews to achieve project milestones, production targets, and company objectives.
- Develop and coordinate manpower plans, crew assignments, and work sequencing to maximize efficiency and resource utilization.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, project specifications, and company policies.
- Conduct routine jobsite inspections to verify quality workmanship, safety practices, and project progress.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and company leadership to ensure field activities align with project schedules and budgets.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and construction documents to ensure accurate and efficient installation.
- Identify potential field challenges and implement solutions to minimize impacts on project schedules, productivity, and quality.
- Enforce quality assurance and quality control standards while maintaining accountability for workmanship and project performance.
- Foster positive working relationships with clients, inspectors, subcontractors, and trade partners.
- Monitor and report on project progress, manpower utilization, jobsite conditions, and other key performance indicators as required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of electrical construction experience with progressive supervisory responsibilities.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and job sites concurrently.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction practices, installation methods, and project sequencing.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Proven leadership experience directing field personnel and coordinating construction activities.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced construction environment.
