 Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual who can design, draft, and produce technical drawings for fire protection systems—including central station fire alarms, kitchen suppression systems, and sprinkler installations. Ensures all designs comply with NFPA standards, local codes, and industry best practices, supporting project approvals and field implementation.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed 2D/3D CAD drawings for fire alarm, suppression, and sprinkler systems
• Interpret specifications, NFPA standards (NFPA 13/72/96), and local codes
• Produce shop drawings, riser diagrams, and system layouts for permits and approvals
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field technicians to resolve design challenges
• Update drawings per AHJ feedback and design revisions
• Maintain organized CAD files and generation of materials schedules
• Support material take-offs, submittals, and procurement documentation

 Additional Functions:

• Other duties as assigned.

 Experience:

• Experience with central station monitoring systems
• Understanding of hydraulic calculations for sprinklers
• Familiarity with UL/FM listings and code compliance processes
• Experience in kitchen suppression systems design

 Qualifications: 

• CAD certification or Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field (drafting, design, engineering) CAD 
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (with Revit or similar software a plus)
• Working knowledge of NFPA standards and fire codes
• Strong technical drawing interpretation ability
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication skills; team-oriented mindset
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication

 Physical Requirements:

• The job may require moderate physical labor including activities such as lifting equipment, climbing ladders, or working in confined spaces.
