This role focuses on the design, development, testing, and certification of fire protection products for our Engineered Systems and Foam Hardware product portfolios. Responsibilities include development of mechanical hardware including concept generation, detailed design, prototyping, and design verification testing, regulatory approval testing, and launch support. This is a on-site position (not remote) and is not eligible for Visa sponsorship. Candidates must be US citizens or Permanent Residents. How you will do it Work with a team of passionate engineers, program managers, product line managers and other professionals to create world class life safety products. Analyze high level market requirements to establish design direction. Prepare design concept diagrams, detailed drawings, and specifications. Analyze designs for feasibility, cost optimization, vibration tolerance, mechanical stress, fluid flow, heat transfer, and other parameters. Direct and coordinate prototype efforts. Plan and execute test programs; analyze test data to optimize designs. Maintain a working knowledge of manufacturing methods, design products for manufacturing efficiency. Maintain knowledge of industry technology trends. Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements and test standards. Prepare and present reports and presentations. What we look for Required Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering, mechanical product development, fire protection engineering, or a related technical discipline. Able to apply fundamental engineering theories, mathematics, mechanics, and physical science concepts to the job. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, good written and oral communications skills, flexibility and adaptability to changing situations. Ability to write reports and convey detailed technical information. Preferred Familiarity with DFMEA (design failure mode and effect analysis) and DFAM (design for assembly and manufacturing) Experience with phase-gate design processes Ability for occasional travel Proficiency of MSOffice, PTC Creo and Windchill HIRING SALARY RANGE: $68,000-$95,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
