What you will do Johnson Controls is hiring an Instrumentation Technician based in our Cranston, RI, testing facility. You will work with a variety of instrumentation, automation and data acquisition equipment in support of the company’s activities by performing the following duties. Candidates must be commuting distance to the Cranston, RI, facility, or able to relocate. How you will do it Reads and interprets test plans, procedures, and schematics. Operates and maintains instrumentation, automation, and data acquisition equipment. Supports other technicians and engineers through the collection, documentation, and storage of test data and automation of various test set-ups. Fabricates electrical/mechanical test fixtures. Utilizes programs within the LabVIEW programming environment. Exercises troubleshooting skills and determines corrective actions for abnormal conditions for instrumentation and acquisition systems. Performs various housekeeping duties. Daily collaboration with engineers and various technicians What you will do Required Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field, or equivalent experience. Experience with Labview. Demonstrated proficiency in basic math functions, trigonometry and algebra. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Able to work in an environment that consists of several lab and machine shop areas.
