This is a full-time/Hybrid position. The Sr. Benefits Administrator is responsible for executing the day-to-day operations of the Company's group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term disability, life insurance, retirement plans, etc.), including FMLA and leave management. This position administers the various company plans and provides excellent customer service. The Sr. Benefits Administrator is responsible for all facets of the benefits life cycle, including system set ups and billing. The Administrator assists with the design of the overall benefit programs, as well as any internal company committees that review and manage particular benefit programs and ultimately executes/implements the decisions. The Administrator continually works to improve and streamline existing programs and efficiently monitors and manages benefits administration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Serve as primary contact for Benefits information with employees, plan vendors, and third-party administrators.
- Coordinate transfer of data to vendors, insurance companies, and external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration.
- Set up and management of benefits within the company's HCM/Payroll systems.
- Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
- Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.
- Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, terminations, changes, COBRA, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, QDROs, QMCSOs, distributions, loans, hardships and compliance testing.
- Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll records.
- Oversee 401k administrative processes for enrollments, data transfers with vendors, periodic audits, mailings, etc.
- Administrative Assistant to company 401k committee - plan and send meeting invites, take minutes, and manage action items.
- Reconcile and process monthly billings and payroll deductions for all group plans.
- Assist in the analysis of current benefits, evaluating the use, services, coverage, effectiveness, cost, plan experience and competitive trends in benefits programs.
- Perform internal plan audits as needed to ensure accuracy ANC compliance. Prepare, collect and organize data for assessments and audits as needed.
- Complete benefits surveys and review information obtained from the results.
- Monitor administrative costs of benefits programs and recommend cost containment strategies, including alternative methods for administration and funding.
- Provide customer service support to internal and external customers. Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package.
- Design and distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions. Provide training and support to group benefits associates, home office associates and the field staff.
- Assist with annual benefits design and bidding. Recommend and implement new benefits programs. Examine possible plan designs and benefits cost changes.
Required Qualifications and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in human resources, management, or related field strongly preferred
- Three to five years of related benefits or employee benefits administration experience. Direct benefits experience may substitute for years of post-secondary education.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP and CEBS professional designations preferred.
- Computer proficiency and advanced technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Costpoint, UKG, or similar HCM/HRIS and benefits systems and databases strongly preferred.
- Experience in an Alaska Native Corporation environment with multiple subsidiaries, multiple states, and government contracting strongly preferred.
- Experience with Service Contract Act employees and their H&W benefits, as well as union employees and benefits strongly preferred.
- Experience with FEHB medical plans strongly preferred.
- Experience with FMLA leave management.
- Project and team management/leadership skills and experience.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.
- Effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of benefit plans, compliance, administration, and electronic data management.
- Knowledge of benefits contract language.
- Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, OBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
