About This Role
Textron Systems is seeking a Full time Mechanical Engineer with experience in mechanical design focused on military applications. The candidate should possess good communication and presentation skills and be comfortable interacting with suppliers within a multidiscipline team. The position requires experience integrating component design solutions into an overall assembly. This position requires that the candidate be a US citizen with or capable of receiving a secret level security clearance.

About This Role
Textron Systems is seeking a Full time Mechanical Engineer with experience in mechanical design focused on military applications. The candidate should possess good communication and presentation skills and be comfortable interacting with suppliers within a multidiscipline team. The position requires experience integrating component design solutions into an overall assembly. This position requires that the candidate be a US citizen with or capable of receiving a secret level security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Participating in the detailed design of structural components.
- Being a member of a team responsible for the development and design integration of mechanical components and systems
- Creation of Technical Data Packages that include 3D drawings, specifications and materials lists for component and assemblies of mechanical and electro-mechanical applications.
- Preparing and directing high quality mechanical and electro-mechanical detail and assembly drawings
- Transitioning product design to production and test.
- Writing technical and proposal documents.
- Creating detailed design reports and presentations to summarize design/analysis results.
- B.S. in Mechanical engineering or related discipline with 2 years of related experience (Level II).
- B.S. in Mechanical engineering or related discipline with 5 years of related experience (Level III).
- Comfortable as a designer of mechanical components and systems subjected to extreme hypersonic flight conditions.
- Packaging design of electronics systems and interconnects, the development of interface control documents, and understanding of designing for manufacturing and assembly techniques.
- CAD design utilizing 3D digital product development tools and with understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
- Skilled utilization of 3D digital manufacturing information to influence design definition options allowing manufacturable detailed assemblies and material schedules subject to configuration management.
- Ability to generate product performance specifications, mass property summary reports, and detailed design summary technical reports.
- Demonstrated Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) skills a plus.
- Possesses or has ability to obtain a Secret level security clearance
