Job Summary:
Must plan, weld, and maintain tools and tool components. May be required to assist higher grade Welders.
Job Responsibilities:
Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification. Must also have a vocational certificate/diploma related to welding, if without a minimum of 1 years’ experience. Uses advanced shop math, a variety of precision measuring instruments and interprets blueprints. Moderate computer skills required. Must successfully complete all required training courses.
Experience:
Requires a vocational certificate/diploma related to welding or a minimum of 1 years’ experience in welding, to include tig and mig welding.
Working Conditions:
Somewhat disagreeable working conditions due to exposure to fumes, sparks, dirt, arc rays and the wearing of face guards.

Job Responsibilities:
- Performs weld operations necessary to construct, maintain, and repair tools and tool components.
- Works from drawings and specifications to fabricate tools and tool components.
- Uses a wide variety of fabrication processes for completion or modification of tools and tooling details.
- Requires the use of a variety of hand tools. Also requires the operation of manual machines including, but not limited to, band saws and drill presses.
- Uses a variety of measuring instruments including but not limited to levels, tape measures, and protractors.
- Performs deburring, blending, and grinding operations as required.
- Responsible only for own work.
- Performs other related duties as required.
