What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cut Order Floater position at Textile Management Associates?
Job Overview:
A Cut Order Floater will be trained to fill multiple roles on the table and fill a role in someone’s absence. They will become familiar with our cut production process, how to process rolls, and how to inspect carpet based on pre-laid standards.
Duties
- Work with AS400 and have a fundamental understanding of computers.
- Fill positions such as Ticket Clerk, Inspector, Cutter, and Wrapper in place of an absence.
- Create tickets for the cutter and manage a steady and consistent workflow.
- Inspect carpet both new and used and be able to determine whether it passes or fails standards.
- Repair carpet if damage does not fail standards.
- Operate a cut table and produce finished rolls based on pre-determined cut sizes provided by the Ticket Clerk.
- Attach tickets to rolls with a Dennison gun.
- Fill in as needed in the event of no absences.
Qualifications:
- AS400/Fundamental understanding of computers.
- Able to inspect the quality of the carpet that is being run.
- Problem Solving
- Works well as a team
- LTO is a plus
Requirements:
- Standing during run time.
- Squatting/Kneeling.
- Bending.
- Lifting small rolls of carpet to toss into scrap bin and or booth bin.
- Lifting rolls of unused tickets to refill ticket printer.
- Use a Dennison gun to attach tickets to roll.
- Use scissors to repair carpet.
- Knowledge of AS400.
