Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity available for a CONTRACT Medical Assistant which is onsite in McKinney, TX at Texoma Primary Care.
This is a contract position for a 3 month term with the possibility to go fulltime. he work schedule is Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm, No weekends!!
Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant will perform clinical functions such as taking history and vital signs, documenting results, coordinating lab and prescription orders, and assisting with minor office procedures. This role also assures optimal patient flow within the clinical areas and communicates issues with physicians, clinical, administrative staff, and management. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate! Certification is not required!
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with intake procedures to ensure accurate documentation and smooth clinic flow
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature with precision and professionalism
- Prepare patients for examinations by documenting medical history, updating records in ECW systems, and assisting with procedures as needed
- Support providers during patient visits by preparing exam rooms, handling specimen collection.
- Administer medications or injections under provider supervision following proper protocols and safety guidelines
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control standards.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient care procedures in outpatient.
- Proficiency with EHR systems for documentation, scheduling, and coding purposes.
- Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) certifications; experience with medication administration and specimen collection preferred
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 years of Medical Assistant experience or recently obtained Medical Assistant Certification.
- Medical Assistant Certification/License is a plus, but not required.
- Working knowledge of ECW is also preferred.
