Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Hospital Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical pharmacy experience within hospital settings, demonstrating a strong commitment to patient care, medication management, and interdisciplinary collaboration. As a Hospital Pharmacist, you will be responsible for dispensing medications accurately, providing expert advice on drug therapies, and ensuring compliance with safety standards across various hospital departments. This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to patient outcomes in a dynamic and fast-paced medical environment.

Duties

  • Dispense prescription medications with precision, ensuring accuracy in dosage and administration.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop optimal medication plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Monitor patient responses to medications, adjusting therapy as necessary to maximize efficacy and minimize adverse effects.
  • Provide expert consultation on managed care protocols, medication interactions, and pharmacology best practices.
  • Oversee sterile compounding procedures, including IV infusion preparation and aseptic techniques, maintaining strict safety standards.
  • Conduct patient assessments related to medication therapy, including evaluating physiology and anatomy knowledge for complex cases such as ICU or trauma patients.
  • Manage inventory control of pharmaceuticals, ensuring proper storage, expiration tracking, and compliance with hospital policies.
  • Stay current with advances in hospital medicine, critical care practices, pain management strategies, and emergency room protocols to support acute care needs effectively.

Experience

  • Proven clinical pharmacy experience within hospital environments, preferably in Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers.
  • Demonstrated expertise in hospital medicine with specific experience in ICU (Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or emergency room settings.
  • Post-residency training or pharmacy residency programs that emphasize clinical practice and patient service excellence.
  • Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and pharmacology relevant to acute pain management and critical care scenarios.
  • Hands-on experience with medication administration protocols across diverse patient populations including pediatrics and adults.
  • Familiarity with managed care systems and the regulatory standards governing hospital pharmacy operations.
  • Prior experience working in high-pressure environments such as trauma centers or emergency departments is highly desirable. Pay: $56.22 - $67.71 per hour
