The Assistant Branch Manager assists in the planning and organization of daily operational activities as assigned to the branch, including servicing accounts, cashiering, and customer relations to maintain a high quality of service and operational efficiency. Some responsibilities entail ensuring the efficient operations for retail and operational functions of the branch. This is a working manager role with the possibility of operating a teller drawer and/or servicing in the new account and loan administration area of the branch. This role may be responsible for the operational and retail function of additional locations in the Market area. Additionally, business development including customer calls and prospecting are required in this role.
JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintain thorough knowledge of the bank’s products, programs, and services to train and motivate staff to sell them.
Acts as paying/receiving teller and Personal Banker as needed.
Recommend products to existing and new customers as opportunities arise.
Makes recommendations on hiring, firing, advancement and promotion of direct reports within the department.
Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching when needed to direct reports.
Provide training or arrange for training to be provided in operations and bank policies and procedures; conduct regular staff meetings.
Customer contact to maintain and enhance current relationships and problem resolution.
Represent Bank in business development efforts, and at civic and community functions.
Maintain prescribed security controls to protect against criminal or fraudulent activity and unnecessary risk or exposure.
Maintain communications between the branch and management.
Responsible for ensuring scheduling of personnel to warrant effective utilization of staff while providing adequate coverage to serve customers.
Review and approve transactions which require overrides.
Loan document preparation and review.
Strict adherence to the Bank Secrecy Act and all other applicable regulations is required.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Consistent and timely attendance is required to ensure uninterrupted operational efficiency and exemplary service delivery.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Sit for extended periods of time.
Walk, stand, bend, squat, twist, and reach.
Simple grasping and fine manipulation.
Extended keyboarding.
QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of banking experience.
Knowledge of all federal and state regulations regarding lending and related departments.
Knowledge of commercial banking products, services, and lending procedures.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Strong confidentiality, decision making, accuracy, and attention to detail.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Associate degree or advanced degree highly preferred
Effective organizational and time management skills.
Previous experience in a Leadership and/or Management role is strongly preferred.
