What You Will Do
The Accounts Examiner V Supervisor performs advanced and/or supervisory (senior-level) accounts examination work. Work involves planning, developing, and recommending techniques and procedures related to EWR, reporting methods, and external partner coordination. Will be overseeing accounts examiners engaged in efforts towards the new system replacement project, EWR initiative, SFTP coordination. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative or independent judgment.

You Will Be Trusted To
- Assist in development, implementation and outreach related to the EWR initiative and other related tax projects.
- Supervise a UI Tax team, plan and assign their work, and achieve goals and standards of the Tax Department.
- Review and evaluate quality and volume of work produced by assigned personnel to determine accomplishment of goals and prepare performance appraisals based on review of work produced.
- Determine training needs, prepare training materials and conducts training.
- Assist State Office Director and Tax Department in planning and coordination related to project.
- Assist with development, testing and training of requirements related to the project scope.
- Assist employers/agents/staff by answering questions related to EWR, SFTP and other related projects.
- Speak at seminars and conferences.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Five years of full-time experience in maintaining accounting records or performing auditing work.
- Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
- Experience in UI tax preferred.
- Experience interpreting the Texas Unemployment Compensation Act, statutes, rules and laws.
- Experience reviewing the detailed work of Tax Accounts Examiners.
- Experience in preparing and presenting Tax-related training.
- You can communicate effectively and are comfortable presenting to large groups.
- Windows-based personal computer programs experience, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Experience in supervision of staff, projects and departments.
