JOB DESCRIPTION

The Division of Biology at Texas Woman’s University (TWU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning Fall 2027.

We seek outstanding candidates engaged in innovative, hypothesis-driven biological research who demonstrate the potential to establish a nationally recognized, externally funded research program. Successful applicants will articulate a clear vision for developing a vibrant research agenda that actively engages both undergraduate and graduate students and complements the Division’s existing strengths.

We are particularly interested in candidates investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying fundamental biological processes. Areas of specialization of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Computational Biology
  • Biotechnology
  • Developmental Biology
  • Metabolism
  • Microbiology and Infectious Disease
  • Immunology
  • Signal Transduction
  • Stem Cell Biology and Regeneration

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an active research program, secure extramural funding, mentor undergraduate and graduate researchers, and contribute to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The Division of Biology is the largest academic division in the School of the Sciences and one of the largest programs at TWU, serving more than 700 undergraduate majors and approximately 75 graduate students enrolled in the Professional Science Master's, M.S. in Biology, and Ph.D. in Molecular Biology programs. Faculty and students benefit from access to state-of-the-art instrumentation and modern laboratory facilities housed in the Scientific Research Commons.
