TITLE
Senior Manager of Data Analytics, CLRWD
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Manager of Data Analytics will provide technical leadership and data management expertise for the JNIWL Center for Leadership Research and Workforce Development, serving as the primary architect for the HerDataTX platform and supporting evidence-based research on women’s leadership. While housed within the Center for Leadership Research and Workforce Development, this position serves as the primary data and research analytics resource for all three centers of the Jane Nelson Institute, supporting a unified research agenda focused on women’s leadership. This position combines advanced technical expertise in data analytics with research support, managing comprehensive data collection, analysis, and platform development that enables the Center’s research initiatives and workforce development programming. This position will initially focus on knowledge transfer and platform onboarding with the goal of assuming full technical ownership of the HerDataTX platform. Following that transition, the role will partner with the Center Director to develop a strategic roadmap for platform expansion and future research tool development. This position provides critical technical infrastructure and data expertise that supports the Center’s mission to establish TWU as the national leader in women’s leadership research.
Work is performed under general supervision and performance is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Director, CLRWD
Supervises: Graduate Research Assistants, Temporary Research Personnel
ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but not limited to the following:
Database and Platform Management
Administer and develop the HerDataTX resource database including database architecture, relational structure, automations, and integrations with the public-facing web interface. This architecture includes a comprehensive searchable repository of women’s leadership resources spanning academic research, industry reports, news coverage, and educational materials.
Oversee the Representation Tracker system for real-time monitoring of women’s participation in municipal and county government positions.
Manage the Research Portal, ensuring monthly research highlights, scholar spotlights, and trend analysis are current and accessible.
Develop and maintain public-facing dashboards with representation metrics and leadership data.
Evaluate and implement platform enhancements as the Center’s data needs scale, including potential migrations, API integrations, or expanded functionality.
Data Analysis and Research Support
Support primary research initiatives including rural women’s entrepreneurship studies, educational leadership analysis, and local elected office participation research through data collection analysis.
Manage comprehensive data collection and analysis initiatives across all Center research areas.
Conduct statistical analysis and data modeling to identify trends in women’s leadership.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all platforms and databases.
Research Partnerships and Collaboration
Establish and maintain data-sharing agreements with academic institutions, government agencies, and industry organizations engaged in women’s leadership research.
Serve as the primary technical liaison to external research partners, facilitating data exchange, platform access, and collaborative research design.
Support the Center’s entrepreneurship and public policy centers in identifying shared data needs and opportunities for cross-center research collaboration.
Represent the Center’s data capabilities in partnership conversations, including contributing to grant proposals and sponsored research agreements that involve data infrastructure.
Research Dissemination and Communication Support
Support development of annual "State of Women's Leadership" report through data analysis and visualization.
Contribute to quarterly research briefs for policymakers and business leaders with data insights.
Provide data analysis support for peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
Translate complex data findings into accessible formats for diverse audiences.
Technical Support and Collaboration
Provide technical guidance on data analytics methodologies and database management across all three centers of the Jane Nelson Institute for Women’s Leadership.
Serve as the primary research data resource for the Institute’s Center on Entrepreneurship and Center on Public Policy, supporting data collection, analysis, and visualization needs for cross-center initiatives.
Collaborate with Faculty Research Fellows on data needs for research projects spanning women’s leadership, entrepreneurship, and public policy.
Support the Center Director in data-driven strategic planning and operational decision-making.
Facilitate collaborative research projects, data-sharing agreements, and coordinated research design across Institute centers and external partners.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Performs other duties as requested.
EDUCATION
Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Research Methods, Public Policy, Women’s Studies, or related field required. Doctorate degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum six years of experience in data analytics, research management, or related field. Demonstrated experience with large-scale database development and management, statistical software packages, and social science research methods and quantitative analysis.
Experience in women’s leadership research and mixed-methods research approaches is a plus.
Experience in higher education or academic research settings preferred.
REQUIREMENT
Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.
