This position is a member of our Water Supply Division.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Perform reviews of water district applications; and conduct research for unique non-standard applications to determine eligibility, engineering, and financial feasibility according to applicable statutes and Commission rules. Provide recommendations and prepare related reports for use by the Commission and the public.
• Coordinate work, provide guidance, answer questions, and review the work and technical analyses of less experienced staff. Serve as a mentor and lead training of new/less experienced staff.
• Communicate with local, state, and federal agencies, engineers, financial advisors, attorneys, board members, and district directors to exchange information concerning water district application processing.
• Inspect water districts to ensure conditions match those outlined in the application.
• Enter data for all assigned district applications into the Districts database for tracking.
• Maintain standard operating procedures and training manuals. Participate with bill review and prepare bill impact assessment statements related to the water districts section during the legislative session.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Texas Professional Engineer's license.

Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. See Tex. Business & Commerce Code Section 117.001(2). Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.

Work Schedule

Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Water Supply Division.
