Texas Vacuum Pumps LLC is a growing industrial service company specializing in the repair, rebuilding, and service of vacuum pumps and rotating equipment used in manufacturing and industrial facilities.
We are looking for a hands-on Pump Technician who enjoys diagnosing mechanical problems, rebuilding equipment, and working with precision mechanical components.
This is a shop-based position where technicians work with professional tools, modern cleaning equipment, and a team that values quality work and collaborative troubleshooting.
Training on vacuum pump systems will be provided for the right candidate with strong mechanical ability.
What You'll Be Working On
- Industrial vacuum pumps and rotating equipment
- Mechanical tear-downs and rebuilds
- Diagnosing pump performance issues and vacuum leaks
- Precision measurement and tolerance checks
- Cleaning and preparation of pump components
- Testing and documenting equipment performance
Typical Daily Work
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, and rebuild vacuum pumps
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
- Use precision measuring tools to verify tolerances
- Record test data from vacuum systems
- Operate shop equipment including:
- hydraulic presses
- pullers
- grinders and saws
- ultrasonic cleaners and parts washers
- forklifts (training provided if needed)
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone with strong mechanical aptitude and experience in areas such as:
- Industrial maintenance
- rotating equipment repair
- pumps or compressors
- mechanical rebuild work
- electric motors or gearboxes
Preferred Qualifications
- 3–5 years of mechanical or industrial maintenance experience
- Experience with vacuum pumps, compressors, or rotating equipment (preferred but not required)
- Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
- Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators
- Basic computer skills for recording test data
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree in a mechanical or technical field is a plus
Physical Requirements
This is a hands-on mechanical position in a shop environment.
Technicians must be able to:
- Stand, bend, and move throughout the workday
- Lift up to 75 lbs when required
- Regularly lift 25–50 lbs
- Work safely while using tools and shop equipment
- Wear required PPE including safety glasses, gloves, and protective footwear
- Report to work daily on time with a positive attitude
