FRAUD ANALYST
Role Responsibilities
The Fraud Analyst is responsible for leveraging advanced fraud detection tools and data analytics to protect member assets and uphold trust. This role requires strong investigative skills, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across teams to proactively mitigate emerging fraud risks.
- Monitor and analyze fraud detection systems (e.g., Alloy, Patriot Officer) and reports to identify suspicious activity, emerging risks, and fraud trends.
- Review transaction patterns and member behavior to detect potential fraud, escalating significant cases promptly.
- Conduct investigations and collaborate with law enforcement and regulatory bodies as needed.
- Recommend process improvements and fraud prevention strategies based on trend analysis and data insights.
- Ensure compliance with Reg E, Reg Z, Reg CC, BSA, AML, and other applicable regulations.
- Support internal teams with fraud-related inquiries and assist in fraud training initiatives.
- Stay current on emerging fraud schemes, technologies, and regulatory changes to proactively strengthen fraud prevention measures.
- Identify and address weaknesses in processes, systems, or controls that may facilitate fraudulent activity.
- Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Meet or exceed KPIs such as fraud detection accuracy and timely case resolution (e.g., within 5 business days).
- Present a helpful and positive attitude, focusing on solutions and promoting a collaborative environment at all times;

- Comply with established regulations and law requirements;
- Perform various other HR duties as assigned.
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years in fraud analysis or fraud investigations within a financial institution
- General knowledge of banking regulations (BSA, AML, Reg E, Reg Z, Reg CC)
- Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified AML Specialist (CAMS) preferred.
Skills, Education and/or Certifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Criminal Justice, or related field.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and organizational ability.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
