Employee in this part-time position will provide support in an assigned research laboratory conducting specified phases
of infectious disease research projects. Responsibilities include assisting PI in developing new procedures and
techniques in virology, microbiology, and immunology to be utilized in the laboratory and in experiments, and
generating validated experimental data for publications and future research proposal applications. Work is performed
under biomedical research laboratory conditions. Some hazards may be present due to use of infectious, carcinogenic or other potentially harmful substances. Other responsibilities also include ensuring overall cleanliness of the laboratory
and laboratory equipment, and ordering and maintaining an adequate stock of necessary supplies. May instruct or direct work of subordinate student trainees and other laboratory personnel.
