What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Fellow position at Texas Tech Univ Health Sciences Ctr?
A pharmacy fellow providing teaching, precepting, research/scholarship, and advanced patient care under the supervision of a faculty member as part of their fellowship.Teaching and Educational Responsibilities
- Design, deliver, and assess instructional materials across multiple learning modalities (traditional classroom, online, hybrid, small group, and laboratory settings).
- Serve as a co-instructor or lecturer in didactic courses within the PharmD curriculum.
- Facilitate small-group discussions, active learning sessions, and laboratory exercises.
- Precept and mentor pharmacy students during experiential learning rotations.
- Participate in educational innovation, including hybrid learning through the Pioneer Pathway program (asynchronous, synchronous, and in-person modalities). Required participation in Immersion weeks 1-2 times per semester.
- Engage in teaching development activities and pursue feedback for continuous improvement.
- Maintain a clinical or practice site in collaboration with faculty preceptors.
- Provide patient care services consistent with the fellow’s area of expertise and licensure.
- Demonstrate professional and ethical behavior in all practice-related settings.
- Develop and execute scholarship projects tailored to personal and professional interests.
- Participate in study design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination of results.
- Prepare abstracts, posters, and manuscripts for presentation or publication.
- Contribute to the scholarship mission of the School of Pharmacy through innovation in teaching or practice.
- Contribute to school and professional service activities.
- Participate in community outreach and engagement activities that support the School’s mission such as precepting free clinics and health fairs.
- Represent the School and Fellowship program at professional meetings and conferences (as available).
- Engage in structured mentorship with faculty and administrative leaders.
- Participate in seminars and workshops focused on academic career preparation, leadership, and communication.
- Develop competencies in time management, curriculum development, and assessment methods.
- Demonstrate initiative, accountability, and commitment to professional growth.
