The Foundation has been a leader on this subject matter across this decade, having transformed the understanding of both the Mexican state and the American relationship with it. This position will contribute directly and strategically to this work.
This role requires a security-first mindset and a demonstrated passion for advancing policies that break the link between foreign terrorist organizations and political actors in Mexico. The ideal candidate brings intellectual rigor, strong writing ability, and a willingness to engage directly in high-impact policy conversations across borders.

Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on U.S.-Mexico policy, including security, Mexican and American governance, and cross-border dynamics
- Produce high-quality written work, including research, commentaries, policy briefs, and reports
- Draft and publish opinion pieces in national and state media outlets
- Represent TPPF in media appearances, public forums, and policy discussions
- Engage and liaise with policymakers, government officials, and institutional stakeholders
- Support the development of actionable policy solutions aligned with TPPF priorities
- Travel as needed to represent the Foundation, including in Austin, Washington D.C., and Mexico City.
- Fluency in Spanish, DELE C1 or equivalent level (required)
- Demonstrated interest in U.S.-Mexico policy, border security, and governance
- Strong academic research and analytical capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in public speaking and media engagement
- High level of personal accountability, initiative, and professionalism
- Ability to translate complex policy issues into clear, compelling arguments for diverse audiences
- Familiarity with Mexican political systems, security dynamics, and transnational criminal organizations
