Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Production Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the production floor to ensure efficiency, quality, safety, and productivity. This role is responsible for supervising a team of production workers, coordinating workflow, monitoring performance, and ensuring that production goals and standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, lead, and coordinate activities of production team members.
- Ensure production schedules are met and adjust workloads as needed to meet targets.
- Monitor product quality, process efficiency, and compliance with safety and company policies.
- Train and mentor production staff; ensure team members follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with quality control, maintenance, and engineering to resolve production issues.
- Maintain accurate production records and reports, including shift logs, downtime reports, and incident documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize productivity and reduce waste.
- Enforce health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety.
- Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving for process or product issues.
- Manage employee attendance, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.
- 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of production workflows, lean manufacturing, and quality systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documents.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and production management software (e.g., ERP/MRP systems).
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a factory environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
- May be required to work flexible hours, including nights or weekends, depending on production needs.
