Position: TPGA Membership & Other Associations Manager
Description: This position will be in charge of the TPGA membership, and working with the team to create and communicate benefits of the organization. The role will also be handling assorted tasks for other pecan associations as contract work. Tasks include sales, event planning, grant work, communications, and more. Looking for an independent, self-starter to take ownership of work and the role, as well as being valued by members and detail oriented to handle a variety of tasks.
Work Environment: This position will report directly to the Executive Director of the association. The person must be able to work in a small office where tasks ranging from projects to menial jobs are performed by all. Office is located in Bryan, Texas and we are looking for predominately in office for this role, but are open to hybrid style of work. Salary and benefits for discussion.
Responsibilities directly associated with the position are:
•Management, Expansion and Development of TPGA Membership
- Membership promotion strategies
- Increase membership, benefits and services
- Manage member database
- Surveys and analysis of membership and industry
• Develop, write and implement grants for TPGA
•Plan, lead activities, and assist the team with Annual Conference or other events.
•Develop and implement communications to membership including newsletters, social media, etc.
•Manage, develop and site maintenance for www.tpga.org
•Facilitate and produce contract work for other industry groups, including events planning
• Lead and manage one possible intern per semester.
• Attend industry and promotional events
•Take initiative to learn all aspects of the pecan industry
Qualifications and Skills:
•Degree in business or agricultural business/leadership preferred
•Experience with sales, management and events planning necessary
•Experience with marketing, communications, business run social media
•Background in agriculture (horticulture) an asset but not required

Other considerations:
Must be able and comfortable to travel independently to events, conferences, meetings with growers/pecan companies.
